Melanie is stopped at a busy traffic light and approached by one of those
\nWindscreen washers weilding a bucket filled with incredibly dirty water and a
\nsqueegy with virtually no rubber left on it.<\/p>\n
Though she thinks it’s nice that they are sort of trying to make a living, she seriously believes they should really try to get a real job and definately doesn’t want her already a little dirtyish windscreen further dirtied and smudged. The last thing she needs is to have her vision further obscured as she doesn’t have the best driving track record even with
\na clean windscreen. Besides she has no change so she politely tells them no
\nthankyou.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately they are either extremely hard of hearing, don’t speak English or just won’t take no for an answer. She tries to insist that she really does not want them ‘cleaned’ and has no money. Well she is totally ignored and her windows are consequently smudged with the filthy water. Light has turned green and windscreen washer is standing very close to her window waiting impatiently for reimbursement. Mel fosicks around looking for some loose change; and can’t believe that she doesn’t have any. She only has her emergency $50 and is so not giving him that. She looks back at him with her best ‘sorry I really don’t have any change, but do appreciate your pathetic efforts face’ but he doesn’t buy it and is not budging. Cars behind her are starting to get impatient and honking, she is getting flustered and grabs a handful of lollies and tries to give him those.<\/p>\n
No go, he’s a diabetic. She’s desperate, there are lots of hiding places in her car and she must have something, she flicks her seat into the lie die position, park brake on and attempts to climb into the back seat with her seat belt still on, doesn’t want to get stopped by the police as well. Her sun roof is up and she’s wearing a flary summer dress that is flying relentlessly and exposingly everywhere, windscreen washer is not impressed by the sight and thinks it’s just another ploy by Mel to get out of paying.<\/p>\n
She manouveres some pretty impressive stretches even if it is only her that is impressed. Finally, almost 15 minutes and several light changes later, she sees it a $2 coin peeking out from the passengers seat. She goes for it, ouch pulls a muscle, it’s just out of reach, she can do it, she can she can….no can’t. Gives up and climbs out of car, opens back door and picks it up and hands it to him. He snatches it and runs off to find another victim. Crikey not even a thankyou and Mel now detours to a professional car wash to have his ‘cleaning’ cleaned up.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
